Hi
Thanks for being a premium member of Geeks on Tour.
This week's show was a little different, we just returned from a dive trip to Bimini, Bahamas and did not prepare a formal Beginner's Lesson. We shared a short video about our trip - created with Google Photos of course! Then we discussed how we handled video using our Chromebook and Google Photos, we also discussed shared albums.
On this trip we used Google Photos a lot! It's a great way to share photos with a group. You create a shared album,
then send the link to anyone you want to see the photos/videos. Anyone with the link can see the album, no Google account is necessary. If they do have a Google account, the album owner can turn on "collaboration" and they can add their own photos to the album. Try this now:
- In Google Photos, Select a few photos
- Click the + in upper right and choose Album (no need to use "Shared Album" you can
adjust those settings at any time - see #4)
- Give the album a name and click the checkmark in upper left
- With album open, click the 3-dot menu and choose Sharing Options
Turn on sharing, and copy link
Turn on Collaboration - Now you can send that link to anyone you want to see your album. If they have a Google account, then can "Join" the album and add their own
photos to it
