Hi
Thanks for being a premium member of Geeks on Tour.
Have you ever been traveling and wanted to let friends or family know where you are? Or maybe you're just driving to a friend's for dinner and they need to
know when to expect you? Did you know that you can ask Google Maps to share your ongoing location with a person for a specified length of time?
- Open the Google Maps app on your iPhone or Android device
- Tap the 3-line menu at the upper left and choose Share Location
- You can select people to share with, or just start a message with a link to your location
- You can specify to share for a length of time, or until you turn it off
That is just one of the Google Maps tips we demonstrate in episode 113 of our "What Does this button do?" show.
As a premium member, you get written notes of the episode. Here is the printable (pdf file) written class notes for episode 113. You can get the show notes from any other episode on our website, under Weekly Class. If you'd like to download the entire 45 minute video for episode 140 (it's 177MB) for offline viewing, click
