Hi
Thanks for being a premium member of Geeks on Tour. This week we taught all about QR codes. QR codes are those funny-looking square codes like the one here. If you know how to scan it, they can show you all kinds of things. If you know how to make them, you can
give friends or customers easy ways to get the information you have to offer. We teach both in this episode.
The QR code at the right will access our new Google Photos eBook - Mrs. Geek's Guide to Google Photos - 2nd Edition. If you have this email displaying on a computer screen, try this now:
- If you have an iPhone or iPad with iOS 11 or higher, get it out and open
the camera app. Focus on the code and you should see a notification item pop up. Tap that and you'll be seeing our book.
- If you have an Android device, the camera may work the same as the iPhone's - just try it. If nothing happens, that means you need an app. Open your Play store and search for QR Droid. Install it. Now open the QR Droid app, you should see a camera-like screen with an outline. Point at the code here and place it within that outline.
It should take you straight to our book!
- Do it now! We won't be giving this book away for long.
That's just one of the many ways we taught about how to use QR codes. You can use them for contact information, maps, product sales, you can even take a photo and read the code using Google Photos. As a premium member, you get written notes of the episode. Here is the printable (pdf
file) written class notes for episode 146. You can get the show notes from any other episode on our website, under Weekly
Class.
