Hi
Thanks for being a premium member of Geeks on Tour. If you've ever wanted to make movies of your video clips and photos but thought it would be too much work, you've gotta watch this episode! This week, in Episode 147, we taught a quick lesson about Quik - a free app for making movies from your video clips and photos. We chose it because we were on a dive boat in the Carribbean without reliable Internet. This app is free, it works offline, and it worked
on Jim's Chromebook since it is an Android app. If you have an Android or an iOS device, you can get the Quik app from your App Store or Play Store and try this now: - Open the Quik App and tap the + in lower right corner to start a new movie
- You should be seeing the camera roll from your device, you can just tap on the video
clips and/or photos you want in your movie
- Tap the checkmark - and the app will create a movie, complete with transitions, and music. If you like it, you're done!
- If you don't like the transitions or music, try a different theme from the row of buttons at the bottom
Our Beginner's lesson this week was all about simple video editing. We also
offered a tip about how to use your iPhone's Live Photo capability and add the Bounce effect, like the image above. As a premium member, you get written notes of the episode. Here is the printable (pdf file) written class notes for episode 147. You can get the show notes from any other episode on our website, under Weekly Class.

Short, 2-7 minute videos you should watch :-) Windows Movie Maker tutorial videos: although this software is no longer available, if you already have it, it will still work. Even if you don't have it, watching this set of 9 tutorial videos (about 50 minutes total) will teach you about video editing. Then you
can use the Windows 10 Photos app and "Create" Custom video with music.
