Hi
We use our TV like a giant photo frame. Whenever we're not watching a show on TV, we just leave it set to the HDMI2 setting and it will continuously show us our Google Photos. We like it better than any TV show!
If you already have Chromecast set up, and you have some Google Photos albums you'd like to see like a screensaver on your TV, follow these steps:
On the TV:
- Set the input to the HDMI port of your Chromecast
On your mobile device - this only needs to be done once to set it up:
- Open the Google Home app - it looks like a little house - you may need to install it from your App Store, or Play Store. Make sure you are signed in with your Google Account
- Under "Local Devices" find the Chromecast-enabled TV you want to use, in our case it's called "Living Room TV" and tap on it
- Settings, Ambient Mode, Select the Google Photos option
- Select "Your Photos" - you should now be seeing a list of all your Google Photos Albums and you can select as many as you want.
From now on your TV will randomly cycle through all the photos in those albums.
That's the quick tip. Our 45 minute show goes into much more detail on the ways you can use Chromecast.
Note: the show starts with a quick tip about finding lost phones.
