If you know how to scan the QR code at the right, it will take you to our YouTube show #184 where you'll learn all about Google Lens. One of the [many] things Google Lens can do is scan QR codes. Other things that Google Lens can do:
- Identify Birds, Flowers, insects
- Translate signs, menus, brochures
- Copy text
- Read business cards and make a phone call
- Identify products and give you a link to buy
Here are 2 easy ways to scan the code:
1. Scan the code live
If you have an iPhone/iPad, or a relatively new Android phone, you can just open the camera app and focus on the code. The code can be printed on paper, or right here on the screen. When it comes into focus, you should see a link pop up on your phone's screen. Tap that link and it takes you to the YouTube video.
2. Take a picture of the code, then open it with Google Photos and use the Lens button
If the live camera option above doesn't work for you, or if you want to watch the video later, you can take a photo of the code. When you open it up using Google Photos, one of the buttons you'll see at the bottom of the screen is the Lens button. It looks like a dot with a rounded-corner square outline - the 3d button. Tap that and it will analyze the code and then pop up the link for you to tap and go to YouTube.
