GeeksOnTour.com started in 2007. In Episode 229, we took a look back at our journey and share some of our favorite tips along the way.
Show Notes are Ready
The show was live-streamed on Feb 13, 2022. Now the show notes are done. If you are a Geeks on Tour Premium member, you can visit the website, click on "Youtube Shows" and then #229. After the YouTube video you will see the detailed show notes. You can even download the printable .pdf file. It's so much easier and faster to skim thru written notes for those useful gems than to watch a whole video.
All 229 episodes include detailed show notes. We encourage computer clubs and technology teachers to use these as lesson plans. We've covered so many topics, from "The first 4 buttons to learn on your smartphone" to "How to relax and keep your photos organized with Google Photos" to "Tech for Travelers: Prepare to be offline."
Tip: Searching a web page
As part of our 15 years of Geeks on Tour, we showed the archives of all the articles we've written over the years. There are hundreds of them. One of our very first articles was about "Traveling with Computers." If you were interested in reading that article, you could go to GeeksOnTour.com, click on the menu item for Blogs/News, then the option for "All Articles." This is where you'll see the complete archives of all
our articles.
To search thru the hundreds of articles for the ones with "Traveling" in the title, here's what you do:
- Ctrl-F on windows or Cmd-F on Mac
- This will pop up a box where you can enter your search term, e.g. Traveling
- Press Enter
- All places on this web page where the word traveling is found will now be highlighted. You can scroll thru and look at the highlighted items, or you can click the down arrow in the search box to see the next item
Here are the articles you would find:
This Ctrl-F / Cmd-F technique works on ANY web page. Give it a try!
