Hi folks,
We are in Japan! If you didn't see our show last week, check it out: Show306. Using A.I. while Traveling in Japan. We ate a whole crab in Hakodate, visited a shrine in Hachinohe, went shopping in an electronics superstore, and went to a baseball game in Tokyo.
Check out our photo album here.
Below is your Tech Tip Video for the week. We will not be live on YouTube or Zoom.
I use Apple iOS devices as well as Android. To manage my photos, Google Photos is the only answer for me. Google Photos works great on an iPhone, but if you have all Apple devices, it may be an extra layer of complexity that will be too confusing.
For example, people think that using the Google Photos
app to delete a photo will only delete it from the Google Photos cloud. Not true. It deletes it from the device as well AND then that deletion is synchronized to all Apple devices thru iCloud. That photo is deleted from everywhere. If it's a garbage photo, that's what you want right?
Another 'gotcha' is the fact that
installing Google Photos on an iPhone and turning on the backup feature (which is easy to do unintentionally) will backup all the photos on your phone to your Google account and that may exceed your storage limits. If that happens, you won't even be able to use Gmail until you buy more storage.
If you understand these things,
then please, feel free to use Google Photos on your iPhone. You will gain many advantages like partner sharing, powerful editing tools including A.I. creations, and easy sharing techniques.
