We use ZoomΒ a lot, both in our business and our personal lives. WeΒ recognize that many more people are needing to use it now in the era of Coronavirus quarantines. That was our motivation for covering this topic, and also for that reason, we are making the show notes free for anyone. Stay healthy my friends.
Β
Quickstart - your very first meeting
you will be surprised at just how easy it is to hold a Zoom meeting.
- You need a laptop, smartphone, tablet, or a computer with a camera and microphone.
- One person, the meeting host, needs a Zoom account. Just go to Zoom.us and sign up for a free account. That also gets you a Personal Meeting ID (PMI) such asΒ 999 222 3333. You can use that for instant meetings if you turn it on in Settings.
- Send the link (https://zoom.us/j/9992223333) to anyone you want to join you in the meeting. This will either be your PMI, or the assigned meeting ID that you can copy after starting the meeting by clicking the Invite+ button.
- When the time comes, the host logs in to Zoom.us, clicks on "Host a Meeting" and "With Video On" - you should now be in a Zoom meeting
- Your participants will simply click the link you sent them, follow the prompts to install the Zoom app, and they'll be in the meeting with you.
- When you're done, the host clicks on End Meeting
There's lots more and all the basics are covered in Episode 186 of our show, including questions from our live audience, and a review. However, if you just want to watch the short tutorial videos, here ya go:
