What's up with Jim and Chris - the Geeks?

Earlier this year we announced that we will be moving away from S Florida and living on the Residential Cruise Ship called the Villa Vie Odyssey. We are selling our house and getting rid of all of our belongings except what we take with us. The one thing we are keeping is our wonderful RoadTrek camper van. In February we took a 3 day trip to visit our friend, Alex, near Gainesville, Florida. We've made arrangements to leave the van with her while we cruise around the world. If perchance things should go awry on the ship, this will be our LifeBoat!

Tutorials: We recorded a few more videos this past month, see our All Videos Page. We also did 2 episodes of our Button Show, and 2 episodes of Fun with Photos. See our Classes page for more.

Community: As always, we enjoyed our Members-only Zoom meetings. We're working diligently on more "Top Tips" for members only. The new ones are listed at the bottom of this newsletter. Great reasons for becoming a Premium Member.

Do you use your phone as a wallet?

I love using my phone to pay for things when I’m out and about. I was at a coffee shop yesterday and ordered a breakfast sandwich. I tried to tap my phone to the payment terminal and nothing happened. Woops! This is a brand new Samsung phone and I had not set up the Google Wallet with my credit card. So, I used my card instead and then sat down to set up my wallet while my sandwich was being made.

Rich on Tech is a radio show airing on hundreds of stations across the country. He likes to talk about Google Photos and one of his listeners suggested Chris Guld as a guest. Preparing to Move onto a Cruise Ship

The countdown has begun! 33 days until we leave home. Then we’re taking the RV to the Tampa area to give a presentation to the Sun City Center Computer Club. From there we go to our friend, Alex’s, near Gainesville. We’ll be there for 10 days before flying to Cartagena and getting on board. We’ll be leaving our RV at Alex’s and she’ll look after it. We have no plans to use it anytime soon. If life on the cruise ship doesn’t work out for any reason, it will be our lifeboat.

This article will give you a little "behind-the-scenes' look at what we're doing to get ready, including some tutorials on how we're scanning all our memorabilia like journals and photo albums.
