Geeks on Tour: New Spotlight video - Avoid Email Scams

Published: Wed, 08/13/08

Hello ,

Spotlight on Email scams
We wanted to let you know that we just changed the tutorial video
that is in the spotlight on www.GeeksOnTour.com.  We are now
spotlighting "How to recognize and Avoid Email Scams."  Identity
theft is rapidly becoming a major problem.  It happens in lots of
different ways, most of them you have no control over.  One way is
by falling victim to scam emails.  With a little bit of knowledge,
you *can* control, even eliminate this one.

Everyone should watch this video! You should also visit the online
game called Anti-Phishing Phil to learn how to spot scam websites
by looking at their address, known as the URL (Uniform Resource
Locator.) http://cups.cs.cmu.edu/antiphishing_phil/new/index.html
